Soo is working on a new book! New Beginnings: Getting Teacher-Family Solidarity Right From the Start will be published by Harvard Education Press in 2026. In the book, she returns to her roots as a young aspiring teacher and asks, “How can we prepare teachers to work with a commitment to students’ families from the beginning?” Based on interviews with preservice teachers that continue through the conclusion of their first year as classroom teachers, the book will be a much-needed resource for anyone interested in supporting the early positive development of family engagement in novice (and experienced) educators.
