After years of teaching in the classroom, I know that watching model teachers at work can inspire and motivate. Teaching can be a solitary endeavor, but I’ve found that talking with colleagues strengthens my practice and prompts reflection. You can read Natural Allies on your own, but it’s even better read with others.

I developed these study guides to support those conversations. Use them to collaborate with colleagues, build your family engagement plan, and apply what you learn from the teachers in Natural Allies to your own practice. For each chapter, I provide guides for: teachers, preservice/novice teachers, and families.
